Join us for Live Music, Food and Drink to help celebrate the 4th Annual Plein Air Arts Festival hosted by the Economic and Cultural Development Group (ECDG) of Camp Hill, PA. Come browse the gallery spaces filled with original works of art created by artists, both local and national. Walk the streets and alleyways around Willow Park and Market Street and sample local food traditions, while enjoying live music and games for the entire family.
If you are new to this centuries old tradition, Plein Air is a French phrase "en plein air", it literally means 'in the open air'. And while painting out in the open air is a familiar concept today, in the late 1800's when the Impressionists ventured out of their studios into nature to investigate and capture the effects of sunlight during different times of day on a subject, it was quite a revolutionary idea. The Plein Air Collector's Preview Party will unveil various winners from Competitions and will be held on Friday evening May 16th. Tickets to this catered event are $25. Activities will be free on Saturday May 17th and open to the public.
72 artists and photographers from five states have been juried into this year's juried competition, along with 25 students from 10 area schools districts for the student competition.
