Plein Air Camp Hill Festival

Particpants enjoyed Live Music, Food and Drink to help celebrate the 4th Annual Plein Air Arts Festival hosted by the Economic and Cultural Development Group (ECDG) of Camp Hill, PA. They browsed the gallery spaces filled with original works of art created by artists, both local and national. Walked the streets and alleyways around Willow Park and Market Street and sampled local food traditions, while enjoying live music and games for the entire family.

If you are new to this centuries old tradition, Plein Air is a French phrase "en plein air", it literally means 'in the open air'. And while painting out in the open air is a familiar concept today, in the late 1800's when the Impressionists ventured out of their studios into nature to investigate and capture the effects of sunlight during different times of day on a subject, it was quite a revolutionary idea. The Plein Air Collector's Preview Party unveiled various winners from Competitions and was be held on Friday evening May 16th. Tickets to this catered event were $25. Activities were free on Saturday May 17th and open to the public.
